Creating has always been a driving force in my life.  There is an empty
spot inside of me if I cannot create on a regular basis.

I remember painting rocks with watercolors and making doll clothes
with a needle and thread at ages four and five.  At six and seven I was
making paint out of rose petals and making a skirt for myself.  On long
trips, in my imagination, I would design and create elaborate gowns for
my Barbie Doll.  I would plan every detail and how to construct it as I sat
in the back seat staring out at the stars.  I made my first dress for myself
in 5th grade and throughout high school I made most of my own clothes.

I obtained a degree in Home Economics with a minor in art and later a
Bachelors in Commercial Art.  I have studied with various artists in the
area; Don Sahli, Dvora Kanegis, Ken Valastro and others at the Art
Students League of Denver.  I still have that ache in my sole if I am
unable to paint or create for very long. Many of my paintings have been
Pleine Air.  I enjoy still life, portraits and have receintly been moving
into expressionism and abstracts.  My primary medium has been oils
however, I am currently exploring acrylics and finding them quite
exciting.  In the past few years I have been involved with several art
shows and galleries, I have taught pottery, painting and I am currently
teaching elementary art with Jefferson County Public Schools  in
Colorado.
